About us |
My name is Shona Quin and I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist working with young people and those who look after them.
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh Doctorate Programme in Clinical Psychology in 2003 and have worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services both within community and inpatient settings in England and Scotland. Alongside this, I have spent the last 10 years developing an independent consultation service into residential children’s homes. In 2015 I made the decision to leave the NHS to develop SPACE and now offer training and consultation across 7 residential provisions across Scotland. Having worked with children and families with complex histories for most of my career this is an area of particular interest. My practice is largely informed by my understanding of the impact of disrupted attachments and developmental trauma and I am dedicated to promoting the psychological wellbeing and growth of children and young people through consultation with carers and educators. I am a member of the British Psychological Society and am a registered practitioner with The Health Professions Council. I work in partnership with my friend and colleague Penny Noel who is developing her independent services through SPACE in the Highlands. My name is Pen (Penelope) Noel and I am a Psychologist and Mindfulness Yoga Teacher working in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health service within the NHS and in collaboration with Psychology Space. I did my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Edinburgh and have worked in both tier 3 and 4 services. I have particular experience working with the range of neurodevelopmental issues including developmental trauma. I have a personal interest in the psychological wellbeing and self care of those who are providing the space for children with complex support and care needs to thrive. My practice is informed by understanding of the mind and how patterns of behaviour evolve in the context of early life experiences and genetic vulnerability.
